Thomas Dwayne Frederickson, 66, was killed

A man was killed after a vehicle fell off a jack lift, trapping him underneath Thursday night, according to Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler.

The coroner has identified the victim as Thomas Dwayne Frederickson, 66, of Gaffney.

According to Fowler, family members found Frederickson trapped underneath his vehicle around 6:45 p.m. at his home on Wilkinsville Highway.

The rear of the Dodge Charger had been resting on two jack stands while Frederickson worked to perform repairs to the drive shaft, Fowler said.

According to Fowler, something caused the vehicle to move, knocking it off the jack stands.

Frederickson was pronounced dead at the scene.
