The Analogue Pocket Gets Its Own WaterField 'CitySlicker' Carry Case | Nintendo Life

2022-08-13 11:10:35 By : Ms. Ashley Ding

WaterField has already created two cases for the Analogue Pocket – the Pouch and the Pack – and how it's adding a third with a special version of its iconic 'CitySlicker' design.

Costing $79, the CitySlicker for Analogue Pocket features:

Waterfield's owner, Gary Waterfield, had this to say about the announcement:

We’ve had a CitySlicker case for the PS2, Nintendo’s DS family, and now for the Switch and Steam Deck. When the Analogue Pocket came out, customers started clamoring for a custom CitySlicker. This CitySlicker has a vertical orientation to match the handheld and is just as handsome and professional as the original. You can take it to the office, and no one will ever know you’re carrying a gaming device.

Damien has over a decade of professional writing experience under his belt, as well as a repulsively hairy belly. Rumours that he turned down a role in The Hobbit to work on Nintendo Life are, to the best of our knowledge, completely and utterly unfounded.

Ooh, now there is a tasty looking case! It's sooo expensive, but it seems like it's worth the price!

At this point the Analogue Pocket has more cases than firmware updates. The CitySlicker looks great, but I am happy with my Pouch for now.

@NielsNL I’m still waiting on that Analogue OS update. I wonder what the holdup is.

@imgrowinglegs @NielsNL Yeah, same. Hopefully we'll get something soon!

Can't somebody put out one of these that costs £20. I want a soft case that is pocket shaped. I'll probably just make one myself

…man everything with this handheld is overpriced….

Man the world of "high end" carry cases, purses, etc. has gotta be just huge margins of profit. I bet a single one of these things built in high production probably doesn't even cost $5 to make.

This handheld is turning into a hipsters dream now with over priced fashion excesories.

And why would anyone want to carry that hunk of plastic around?

@SteamEngenius without loading roms, it is just a huge hunk of plastic indeed. Strange thing is that the console seems that was made for roms, as it have 4 face buttons (unlike any gameboy or gamegear), and you can't properly press the R and L buttons if there is a game on the slot.

For that price I hope it doesn't sell and the company sits on the units for years.

@abdias - I have no trouble pressing the L/R buttons when there's a game in the slot, but if so the L/R buttons can be remapped to some of those 4 front face buttons you mentioned.

Many Game Boy enthusiasts (especially those interested in a high end product like the Pocket) already own flash carts, which basically achieves the same function as being able to load roms, having all your games in one place.
