Survival can depend on many things in The Quarry, and Tarot cards can help you avoid disaster. Here are some of the most helpful.
A cinematic survival horror game fraught with supernatural terrors, The Quarry offers its players reprieve between chapters with the help of a mysterious woman. If you find her tarot cards laden throughout the story, she can divine possible futures and show them to you with her crystal ball.

Just like normal tarot card readings that attempt to bring insight to a person’s life or inspire them, the visions the woman shows us can be vague. Let’s explore which cards are the most helpful for the perilous night in the quarry.
This card shows the outcome of Jacob tampering with the fuel line, as opposed to stealing the rotor arm, and the engine bay of the van going up in flames as a result.
If you choose this path, you won’t be able to find evidence of foul play hidden in the lake when he goes for a midnight dip. He realizes he has lost the rotor arm, and swims under the glassy, black water for it later in the game. You especially need to steal the rotor arm instead, if you’re trying to unlock the Conspiracy Theorist trophy.
Although at first glance it seems like Temperance may be suggesting you shouldn’t take the fireworks from the safe you get buckshot shells from — if you find the gun and code for it in the camp store in the first place — it’s actually better to do so.
The fireworks come in handy for fending off one of the creatures during a later chapter in the game — as long as you find what remains of the fireworks, that is.
This card shows Emma on her phone in the treehouse, taking a photo of a creature. This event is important for the Conspiracy Theorist trophy, as that picture counts as evidence. To do this, you must investigate the bag in the tree house, and taser the creature instead of using bear spray when it first appears.

Using the taser stuns the creature for a moment, so Emma can take a picture of it with her phone. Emma surviving after that is up to you.
Emma is seen falling to her death off the zip line at the treehouse with this card, but it is avoidable. What’s important to remember with cards that depict death is to succeed all Quick Time Events (QTEs) surrounding the situation.
This is important for everyone surviving and getting the Rough Night trophy. If you are successful with the QTEs during this segment, she does not fall, and this vision does not come to pass.
This card shows Ryan cutting off Dylan’s arm using a chainsaw. This is the best possible way to go about amputating his arm, and halting the infection of the creature that bit him from spreading — if you don't want him infected, that is.
This scenario is only possible if you broke into the cabin with Abi and Emma in Chapter One, as the creature will be more interested in the duo in the radio hut as a result.
We see Nick wincing in pain, a flash of a ghastly creature tearing into Abi, and Abi’s face frozen with the horror of a voiceless scream as her decapitated head rolls on the ground.

Knowing this can happen, it is imperative you shoot Nick after he throws Abi across the room in the pool house. Make sure not to miss your shot, unless you wish for young Abigail to die so you can get the Lover’s Quarrel trophy instead.
Here we see Laura stabbing Travis, the cop, in the neck with a syringe, and taking his keys to lock him in a cell. This is the best reality to manifest, because it will help prevent Laura from dying later on — Travis will hesitate to kill her at a critical juncture, instead of outright ending her life. However, if you want him to kill her, shoot him with his own gun instead!
Make sure to investigate the police station as thoroughly as possible when the opportunity presents itself, to locate the syringe and hide it before you go to sleep.
This card depicts Laura biting Ryan. If you wish for Ryan to live, then you would allow this premonition to come to pass — unlocking the Phlebotomy trophy in the process.
Biting Ryan serves many purposes and allows for different narratives to play out, depending on the outcome you’re going for in that particular playthrough.
This is where we see a series of decisions having a domino effect on one another. If the older Hacketts are alive at this point, they — or Bobby (one of the hunters) — will be mauled by one of the creatures and killed. This is especially the case if Bobby was stabbed, rendering him weak and unable to defend himself.

This isn’t a bad thing if you’re going for the Family Matters trophy. If Ryan hesitates, or misses his shot on the same creature, he will then be killed, causing Laura and Travis to kill each other and score you the Mutually Assured trophy.
Two possible deaths are alluded to — those of Kaitlyn and Laura. Kaitlyn’s shows her falling off a beam and dying from the impact of her head hitting the ground. Succeed with your QTEs in the situation, and her death can be averted.
If Laura is shown, she is seen crawling away from a crashed car. Know that you shouldn’t grab the wheel from the driver, and once again succeed your QTEs to ensure she faces death another day.
The Angel’s Call will show a few different possibilities, depending on who’s alive. The description the mysterious woman gives will be different as well, depending on whether or not Travis, Ryan, and Laura team up to track down the White Wolf. One possibility will show Laura shooting Travis, and this is something you want if you’re going for the Family Matters trophy.

This card can also show Kaitlyn distracting one of the creatures with a toy you can pick up in Chapter Two, and locking it in the freezer to die. This vision is especially inspiring if you’re going for The Final Girl trophy and everyone else has died by that point. The card may also show Max remaining on the island the treehouse is situated on.
If you want him to die, then swim to shore — otherwise, let him stay put. Lastly, this card can show Jacob running for his life in the forest from one of the creatures. Pass the QTEs if you want him to survive, fail if you want the jock dead.
If you find this card — Abi and/or Emma must survive to the later stages of the game — it gives you massive insight into who the woman reading the tarot cards is, and the events that took place six years before the circumstances we find our protagonists in.
Be warned though — if you find this card, all the other cards you have collected will not be read, as this one will automatically be chosen by the old woman. If you’re going for the Hard Pass trophy, it’s probably best you don’t pick this card up if you do manage to find it.
